- FILLING: shopping list
- 1/4lb. rice shopping list
- 4c. water shopping list
- 2t. salt shopping list
- 1/4lb. semi-sweet chocolate shopping list
- 1/4lb. pinoli shopping list
- 1/4lb. raisins shopping list
- 1/4lb. citron; cut up shopping list
- 1c. sugar shopping list
- 1t. vanilla shopping list
- Amaretto shopping list
- 4T. cocoa shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- CRUST: shopping list
- 3c. flour shopping list
- 5t. baking powder shopping list
- pinch of salt shopping list
- 1 stick butter; melted shopping list
- 1/2t. vanilla shopping list
- 1c. sugar shopping list
- juice & rind of 1 orange shopping list
How to make it
- FILLING:
- Cook rice in 4c. water adding 2t. salt.
- Boil 5 min.
- Add chocolate & melt.
- Add remaining ingredients & eggs.
- Beat slightly. Should be a soft liquid.
- CRUST:
- Make a well in flour & add all ingredients at one time.
- Use hands as mixture thickens & work until smooth.
- Divide into 3 parts & roll like a pie crust.
- Fill one pie plate to about 1/4" from the top.
- Fill with the pie filling.
- Roll the dough for the side (top) like a rope & crimp as you go.
- Bake 350F for 15-20 min. Reduce to 275F for about 1 hr.
- Makes 2 pies.
