Moms Italian Bread

- 1 pkg. dry yeast shopping list
- 1/4 c warm water shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 3-4 c sifted flour shopping list
- 3 tsp minced green onion shopping list
- 1 T butter, softened shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 1/2 t. oregano (dried) shopping list
- 1/2 t chopped dried rosemary shopping list
- 1 c small curd cottage cheese, room temp shopping list
- 2 T sugar shopping list
- 1/4 tsp baking powder shopping list
- Melted butter for brushing loaf shopping list
How to make it
- Soften yeast in warm water.
- Mix all other ingredients well, except flour.
- Add yeast mixture & beat well.
- Gradually add sifted flour to make a firm dough.
- Turn out onto floured surface & knead 5-10 mins til no longer sticky, adding flour if necessary.
- Put in greased bowl, cover with towel & let rise 1 hr or until doubled in size.
- Punch down and put in well greased 1 1/2 QT casserole or bread pan (9 x 4) and let rise 30 mins.
- Bake 40 mins at 350.
- Turn out & brush top with melted butter.
