This delicious bar cookie was NAMED at MY house by a bunch of junior school students watching the great San Antonio Spurs play series after series on their way to their first NBA championship in 1999. I made the (unnamed) cookies so many times over a period of weeks that I finally requested that they give the cookies a name. "Spurs Bars" is the happy result. We have sent the recipe to friends around the world, but never thought it would end up on a website of folks we don't know. The cookies are best undercooked and gooey! We would never put raisins in ours, though we love them with butterscotch, peanut butter, and/or chocolate chips - any combination works!
