Winter Spiced Fruit Recipe

Winter Spiced Fruit Recipe
So. I live really close to a mountain range and have breakfast at about 6 am. Consequently, this is what keeps me going, all warm inside. Or for pudding, if I feel like pudding...

Ingredients
  • Some sort of fruit you like (e.g. an apple, pear or orange) peeled/cored/sliced as desired.
  • Un poco water
  • -- Spice Mix --
  • a pinch each of cardamom, allspice, mace, coriander, and cinnamon.
  • 2-3 cloves
  • a pinch of sugar/sweeten to your own taste

Directions
  1. Easy enough. Pop a little saucepan on the stove with the fruit and spices in it, and pour over enough water to cover the fruit.
  2. Pop on a lid and bring to the boil, stirring more if you want the fruit to break up.
  3. When cooked as much as you like, drain away water, take out cloves
  4. And serve with yoghurt
  5. The great thing is that the kitchen ends up smelling delicious too, and the windows fog up, and you can pretend that you aren't shivering through your layers and layers of clothes, and a southerly isn't rattling the old draughty house to bits
