Tuna Cakes Recipe
This dish we ate a lot growing up cause we had a big family, but we all loved it and still do.

Ingredients
  • 2 cans(6 oz. each.) light tuna in water, drained,flaked
  • 1 pkg. (6 oz.) stove top stuffing mix for chicken
  • 1 cup kraft shredded mild cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrets
  • 1/3 cup kraft mayo real mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp. claussen sweet pickle relish
  • 3/4 cup water

Directions
  1. Mix all ingredients. cover and refrigerate 10 min.
  2. Heat large nonstick skillet sprayed with pam on med. heat
  3. For each tuna cake, shape 1/3 cup lightly packed tuna mix into patty.
  4. Add pattys to skillet in batches
  5. Cook 3 min. on each side or until golden brown, turning over carefully
  6. I think it works better if you shape pattys and put in fridge for about an hour before frying, it helps to keep them together.

This sounds really good :) My Mom used to make tuna patty sandwiches for us when we were growing up.....she put tuna, egg and crushed up saltines in hers.....fried them in Canola oil and then put them on white bread w/Miracle Whip & a slice of American cheese. :)
