tastiest chilli I've ever had, never fails to impress. From an Antony Worrall Thompson recipe. Trust me on the chocolate and fennel.

Ingredients
  • 1tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp chilli powder, or to taste
  • 1tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1tsp dried oregano
  • 1 red pepper, 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 5oog minced beef
  • 1 x 400g tin tomatoes
  • 1 tin kidney beans
  • 1tbsp cocoa powder, dissolved in a litle water

Directions
  1. Heat oil in large pan, and fry onion, garlic, herbs & spices until they sweat down.
  2. Add peppers and more oil if necessary, cook for a couple of minutes longer.
  3. Add mince, and cook until browned.
  4. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for about 20 minutes.
  5. Serve with chopped coriander, or whatever you normally have with chilli.
