How to make it

  • Prepare your tomato and lettuce by slicing pieces as you see fit, not too much tomato because it will make the sandwich watery, not too much lettuce because it is mostly being used as a buffer between the tomato and the mustard. If you want you can fold your cheese and meat ahead of time so you can simply place your ingredients on the toasted bread and eat right away while it is still hot.
  • Put your bread or bagel halves in the toaster, if you don't know your toaster too well then glance at them once in a while while, you are aiming for slightly to mildly browned, but not black, the moment your bread is finished spread mayonnaise on each half and mustard on the halve that will be considered the top of your sandwich
  • Quickly place meat and cheese on the lower halve, top with tomato and add salt and pepper as you see fit, top the tomato with the lettuce and finish it off with the other half of the sandwich (yeah, I know, I'm giving directions on how to make a sandwich, comical isn't it?)
