How to make it

  • In bowl, dissolve gelatin and salt in boiling water
  • Add vinegar and onion
  • Refrigerate until syrupy
  • Beat in remaining ingredients
  • Pour into 6 individual molds OR pour into an 8 inch square glass dish
  • Refrigerate until firm
  • Unmold on greens and top with a small dollop of mayonnaise
  • May garnish with a little piece of pimiento

    This is wonderful in the summer, but I'm making it for Christmas dinner. I think the lightness and the citrus will make it a nice palate cleanser.
