Black Sauce

- 2 X 1kg tins treacle shopping list
- 2 litre malt vinegar or (half a gallon) shopping list
- 1 tbsp ground cloves shopping list
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper shopping list
- 25 g or 1 oz chopped garlic (or more if liked) shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
How to make it
- Boil together for 1/2 an hour
- Mix 1/2 cup flour with a little vinegar.
- Add to hot mixture, (take off the heat while stirring in)
- Bring back to boil for a few minutes.
- Bottle in sterilized bottles and leave for 6 weeks
- Can use before this but is nice to leave for flavors to mature.
