This recipe came from our local Head Start program. Our Girl Scout troop used to make it often for a fun snack. Kids can shape the pretzels into letters, etc. Very forgiving!

Ingredients
  • 6 Tbs Water
  • 1 tsp Yeast
  • dash Table salt
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 c Flour
  • 1/4 c Sharp cheddar, shredded
  • 1 Egg white
  • 1 Tbs Water
  • Kosher chunky salt

Directions
  1. Dissolve yeast in water.
  2. Add sugar, salt, stir in flour.
  3. Add cheese.
  4. Knead slightly until cheese clings.
  5. Let kids knead and form into shapes.
  6. Place on greased sheets. Brush with egg whites and water. Sprinkle with salt. Bake at 425 for 10-15 min.
  7. Great project to make with kids.
  8. Triple recipe to use an entire packet of yeast.
