Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1/2 c. Crisco shopping list
- 2 c. flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 3 tsps. baking powder shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 3/4 c. milk shopping list
- 1/4 c. marachino cherry juice shopping list
- 1 c. chopped nuts shopping list
- 4 egg whites shopping list
How to make it
- Sirt together flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
- Add crisco, milk, cherry juice and vanilla.
- Beat 2 minutes.
- Add beaten egg whites.
- Beat 1 minute.
- Lastly add slightly floured chopped maraschino cherries and chopped nuts.
- Bake at 350 degrees.

- White Frosting:
- Boil together 2 cups white sugar and 2/3 cups boiling water until syrup spins a thread.
- Cool slightly.
- Pour into 2 beaten egg whites.
- Beat until thick.
- Flavor with vanilla and spread on cake.
