How to make it

  • To make sauce, combine mayonnaise with sour cream and mix well. Stir in salt and pepper (optional).
  • Place potatoes in an even layer in the bottom of a large glass bowl. Spread one tablespoon of sauce over potatoes.
  • Place the herring layer. Cover with chopped onion.
  • Then place the layer of carrots and layer of apples, spread one tablespoon of sauce over each of them.
  • Finish with the beet layer, generously covered with sauce.
  • Top with shredded egg.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and dill.
