Jellof rice

- rice shopping list
- tomatoes (paste / freshly ground) shopping list
- Hot ground chilli pepper shopping list
- Preferred spices (e.g. garlic, aniseed, rosemary, white pepper etc) shopping list
- onions shopping list
- cooking oil shopping list
- water shopping list
- vegetable (e.g. carrots, green pepper, French beans etc) shopping list
- chicken (or any desired meat) shopping list
- salt to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Cut the chicken into manageable sizes, season and boil
- Fry chicken
- Cut onions and other vegetables
- Mix tomatoe with a little water if paste
- Put sauce pan on fire and add oil
- Fry onions for two minutes
- Add two teaspoons of chile pepper
- Stir and allow to cook for three minutes
- Add tomato paste and stir over low heat
- Allow to boil until the oil begins to show on the surface
- Add vegetables, salt to taste and other spices
- Add fried chicken
- Allow to cook into a thick stew
- Take all the pieces of chicken and some stew
- Add rice to stew and mix
- Add enough water to get rice cooked
- Allow to cook over low heat and stir occassionally until rice tenderizes
- Jellof rice is ready
- Serve with stew and chicken already taken
- Add already prepared salad or spagetti
