Salsa di pomodoro for Potatoe Gnocchi

- 2 1/2 lb tomatoes-fresh or canned shopping list
- 1 med onion shopping list
- 2 stalks celery shopping list
- 1 carrot shopping list
- 1 bunch parsley shopping list
- 1 bunch basil (a bunch means probably half a bundle like they sell in produce aisle) shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Wash ingredients thoroughly and chop everything except basil into large pieces.
- Cook for 40 minutes in a deep pan without a lid.
- Put through a food processor or blender, and then cook an additional 15 minutes.
- This time add salt, pepper, and finely chopped basil.
- Done! Toss with your gnocchi or pasta-or use on a pizza.
