Ingredients
  • 5 to 6 cups chopped fresh fruit (apples, rhubarb, blueberries or peaches)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup milk
  • =================================================
  • TOPPING:
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1-1/2 cups boiling water

Directions
  1. Arrange fruit evenly in the bottom of a 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. greased baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt; cupt in butter until crumbly.
  3. Stir in milk.
  4. Spoon over fruit.
  5. Combine sugar and cornstarch; sprikle over batter.
  6. Pour water over all.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until fruit is tender.
  8. Yield: 12-16 servings.
