Ginger Bread House

- 2 1/2 dl brown sugar shopping list
- 3/4 dl light syrup shopping list
- 3/4 dl water shopping list
- 150 g butter shopping list
- 1 table spoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1 table spoon ginger shopping list
- 1 tea spoon cloves shopping list
- 8 dl flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 tea spoons bicarbonate shopping list
How to make it
- All ingredients are available from organic farming and/or fair trade.
- With these proportions of spices it will be very mild.
- Double the dose for the real xmas feeling.
- Put the dough in plastic wrapping in a fridge over night.
- Make ca 4mm thick pieces
- But first you need to figure out the dimensions of the house, i.e. walls, windows, doors, chimney etc.
- Bake (175 degrees for ca 10 min) and let cool down.
- Should be brown, the trick is to the get the final product crisp so that it does not fall apart so quickly. Thick gingerbread cookies have a tendency to become soft ...
- Decorate with glazing and decorate with candies.
- 1 egg white
- 1 dl icing sugar
- juice from half a lemon
- Glue:
- Melt sugar in a pan big enough to fit the widest wall.
- Be careful, It is REALLY warm!
- Tear down the house when Christmas ends, i.e. on January 13. (tjugonde dag Knut).
- A bit more advanced version is to cut out windows before baking.
- When it is cool put in windows made of sheets of gelatin,
- glue with the molten sugar.
