How to make it

  • Cut a 1 1/2” to2” square in the center of the bread, being careful not to break the bread and crust around the square.
  • Put the bread with the hole in the middle on a hot buttered skillet, crack an egg and pour the raw egg into the hole.
  • Put the bread square somewhere else on the hot buttered skillet.
  • Cook until the egg is firm and flip the egg and bread (bird in nest).
  • Also flip the bread square.
  • Finish cooking the other side and serve. The kids love this!
