How to make it

  • In a nonstick skillet heat oil over low heat
  • Add onion and cook until soft, about 6 minutes
  • Add garlic and cook until it starts to color, about 1-2 minutes
  • Season with some salt and pepper
  • Add onion mixture to the bowl of a food processor
  • Add beans, chili powder, water, and more pepper
  • Process until mixture become a slightly chunky puree
  • transfer to a bowl and stir in herbs (can also process herbs w/ mixture if you prefer)
  • Taste and adjust seasonings
