Barbecue Mustard Nutty Slaw Recipe

Barbecue Mustard Nutty Slaw Recipe
This is my version of a coleslaw from katheats.com. It's great with barbecue chicken, ribs or burgers.

Ingredients
  • Half Head of Green Cabbage (can use red or a mixture of both)
  • 3 Whole Carrots
  • 1/4 Large Red Onion (can use any sweet onion, I use red for color)
  • 1/4-1/2 cup Barbecue Sauce of choice (I use Sweet Baby Rays)
  • 1/8-1/4 cup Yellow Mustard of choice
  • 1/2 cup nuts of choice (almonds, pecans or walnuts).
  • Mustard Powder to taste
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Optional: Cayenne Pepper & minced garlic or garlic powder.

Directions
  1. Use your food processor separately for each ingredient and mix in a bowl as you go along. People are different in their tastes of coleslaw consistency, but I basically pulverize my ingredients to 1/4 inch size. Some peopel prefer chunkier or stringier slaws.
  2. Chop cabbage and put in your bowl.
  3. Chop carrots to same size and consistency and add to cabbage.
  4. Chop onion to same size and consistency and mix with cabbage and carrots.
  5. Chop nuts and add to mixture.
  6. Add your barbecue sauce and mustard and mix everything together. This will be to taste. Some people like less mustard or barbecue sauce.
  7. Add all of your spices & salt & pepper and mix thouroughly.
