Hash Browns OBannon Woods Recipe
We had these on the trail when we backpacked O'Bannon Woods Stae Park, IN. I let them sit overnight in a tree, in a bear bag, to keep animals out of my tent.

Ingredients
  • 1-1/2 cups dehydrated potatoes
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. instant onion
  • 2 tsp. dried bell pepper flakes
  • 1-1/2 tsp. bacon bits
  • 3 tbs. oil
  • A sprinkling of cheese if you wish

Directions
  1. Place all ingredients except oil in a plastic Zip-loc bag. A
  2. dd enough water to fully cover.
  3. Let sit 20 minutes or overnight.
  4. Cook in frying pan with oil until brown.
  5. **Alternately all ingredients may be put in the frying pan along with the oil and water and cooked over high heat until done. 4-6 eggs may be added to the skillet for breakfast entree.
