How to make it

  • Mix butter, mustard and garlic. Spread over each slice of bread. Cut each slice into thirds.
  • Line bottom and sides of ungreased square (8 x 8 x 2 inches) baking dish with enough of the bread slices, buttered sides down.
  • Mix cheese, parsley, onion, salt, worcestershire sauce, pepper and cayenne pepper. Spread evenly over bread slices in dish.
  • Beat eggs, stir in milk. Pour over bread.
  • Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours but no longer than 24 hours.
  • Heat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Bake uncovered about 1 hour 15 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
