Currant and Almond Pilaf

- 1 Tbs butter shopping list
- 1 cup long grain rice shopping list
- 11/2 cups water or chicken broth shopping list
- 1/4 cup currants shopping list
- 2 Tbs. toasted sliced almonds shopping list
- salt and pepper shopping list
How to make it
- In a small saucepan,melt butter over medium. Add rice. Cook,stirring until lightly toasted,about 5 mins. Add water or broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low,cover,and cook till tender,about 15 mins.
- Remove pan from heat and let stand covered 5 mins. Stir in currants and almonds. Season with coarse salt and pepper.
