How to make it

  • place chicken in soup pot
  • cover with water
  • add salt and pepper
  • add chunky chopped onion
  • bring to a boil, cut heat and let simmer for approximately 1 hour
  • prepare dumplings according to biscuit mix
  • carefully place dumpling mix by tablespoons on chicken bones
  • cover pot
  • simmer for approximately 10 - 15 minutes
  • remove dumplings from pot, place in bowl and cover to keep hot
  • remove chicken from pot, place in bowl and cover to keep hot
  • if there isn't gravy in pot (from dumplings cooking) mix flour and water
  • add water to make enough gravy
  • increase heat to bring broth to boil
  • using whisk, whisk flour and water into chicken broth
  • allow gravy to cook for 7 - 8 minutes, adding salt as needed for taste
  • pour gravy over chicken
  • serve and enjoy!
