- 2 Large Cans whole tomatoes shopping list
- 3 Small Cans tomato paste shopping list
- 3 Large Cans tomato sauce shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon Soda (to remove the acid from the tomato) shopping list
- 1/4 Cup olive oil shopping list
- 3 onions,chopped shopping list
- 12 Large garlic cloves,finely chopped shopping list
- 3 sweet green peppers,chopped shopping list
- 4 pork ribs,wrapped in cheescloth bag (for easy removal) shopping list
- 4 beef Ribs,wrapped in cheescloth bag (for easy removal) shopping list
- 2 teaspoons Italian herb seasoning shopping list
- 2 teaspoons sweet basil shopping list
- 1 teaspoons thyme shopping list
- 2 teaspoons oregano shopping list
- 1 Bunch of fresh parsley,chopped shopping list
- 2 bay leaves shopping list
- 3 teaspoons black pepper,freshly ground shopping list
- 3 teaspoons salt shopping list
- 4 teaspoons sugar shopping list
- 3/4 Cup Romano,freshly grated shopping list
How to make it
- In a large slow cooker...
- Pour tomatoes,paste and sauce.
- Add soda and stir well.
- In frying pan,add olive oil,onions,garlic,green peppers and meat.
- When all these are slightly browned,pour contents into the slow cooker.
- Cover.
- Set on low and simmer for 8 hours.
- Add water as needed(a little white wine would be nice as well)
- After the 8 hours,remove the meat,and bay leaves.
- Add the herbs,seasonings,sugar and cheese.
- Cover and continue to simmer on low setting until sauce reaches the consistency that you like.
