Pumkin And Turkey Chili

- 2 tablespoons olive oil shopping list
- 1 small yellow onion, chopped shopping list
- 1 medium green bell pepper, cored, seeded and chopped shopping list
- 2 jalapeños, ribs and seeds removed, finely chopped shopping list
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped shopping list
- 1 pound ground meat turkey shopping list
- 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes, with their liquid shopping list
- 2 Cups pumpkin purée shopping list
- 1 tablespoon chili powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper shopping list
- 2 Cups kidney beans, cooked and drained shopping list
- cilantro shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oil in large pot over medium high heat.
- Add onions, bell peppers, jalapeños and garlic and cook, stir frequently, for 5 minutes, or until tender.
- Add turkey, brown.
- Add tomatoes, pumpkin, 1 cup water, chili powder, cumin, salt and pepper and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low, then add beans.
- Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes more.
- Serve with a drop of sour cream and cilantro. My family also like to serve it over tortilla chips or corn bread..
