How to make it

  • Rinse and drain currants.
  • Sift flour,baking powder,salt and sugar into a bowl.
  • Cut shortening until crumbly.
  • Add eggs,evaporated milk and currants,mix well.
  • Knead lightly on floured surface.
  • Pat into 8" baking pan.
  • Score halfway through into 8 wedges.
  • Bake at 425 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes(or)until golden brown.
