Uploading your TV Show

It is pretty easy to get your home-made episodes online for the world to see, but there are a few things you need to know. First, you need some sort of video recording device (digital camcorder or quality webcam). After you shoot your footage you will want to edit it. Your video device should come standard with some software to edit.

Once you have your video episode like you want it, you will need to give it a title and upload it here at GroupRecipesTV. That is about the gist of it and should get you going. If you need technical help with working with video continue to read below.

• Will my digital camcorder/webcam work?
  As long as your video capture device can connect to a computer it will work. If you are using a webcam, keep in mind that unless you have a newer webcam the quality of your video won't be quite as good.
• How do I edit video
  This really depends on what program you are using. We are trying to get some video-gurus to help write some "how-to's" for common programs. We'll post those soon. For now, just read the documentation that came with the software and use google for research.
• What format should my video be in to look the best?
  MPEG4 (with Xvid or Divx encoding) will give you the best results (if you don't know what the heck that is, that's ok). We resize all videos to 320x240 so you can make your video that size or a multiple of that (again, if this is foreign to you, don't worry, we can handle almost all video as-is).
• I get an upload error
  We are able to convert almost all video types, but for some reason if you get an upload error, just leave us a message and we'll either fix the bug, or just upload/convert your video by hand (we're geeks and we like that sorta stuff anyways).
