    Starlight Surprise Cookie Mix
    Makes 4 dozen cookies

These cookies are really fabulous; and with this mix, they're super easy to make as well.

    INGREDIENTS:
    2-1/2 cups flour
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 cup sugar
    1/2 cup brown sugar
2 packages chocolate mint wafer candies (Andes candies)

    PREPARATION:
In large bowl combine flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar and mix well. Pour into the bottom of a screw top glass jar. Place brown sugar into a small bag and place on top of the flour mixture. Unwrap the mints and place in another small bag; place on top of the brown sugar. Screw jar closed and include this recipe:
    1 cup butter, softened
    2 eggs
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 jar cookie mix

In large bowl, combine butter and brown sugar from cookie mix and beat until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla and mix until blended. Stir in remaining dry ingredients from cookie mix until blended. Cover and chill dough for 2 hours.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Shape about two teaspoons of dough around each chocolate mint wafer, making sure to cover the candy completely. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 375 degrees F for 9-12 minutes until light golden brown. Let stand for 1 minute, then remove from cookie sheets and let cool on wire racks. Glaze with melted chocolate if desired, or top with nuts before baking. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
