  I decided to create this group for those of us who have travelled and lived in foreign countries that have created unusual and great tasting recipes using local ingredients. Most of the time they were better than the original recipe.

My husband is from Jamaica. I cook very authentic Indo/Pakistani food, also mexican, ( born & raised in a little mexican town in California), carribbean, thai, and since I grew up with parents from the hills of Tennessee, dearly love any "southern cookin'". Know quite a bit about substitutions of exotic ingredients & also many sources for pretty much any ethnic ingredient. Would like to see more ethnic dishes on this site, too.
