Time Marches On

So, here we are - halfway thru 2020. This has been one of the craziest, worst years ever. My life changed in December, 2019, and the new normal is slowly emerging amongst this Pandemic. Working at a school left me not having to work since March. At first I was doing all I could do from home, more recently I have been at the school, at my desk in the Guidance Office, on a daily basis. Soon I will be a "free" woman - retirement begins at 3:00 pm on June 12th! While I miss Jon every single moment of every single day, I am slowly trying to figure out what it is I plan to do with myself. He never would have wanted me to stop living so I intend to find places to go and things to do.

I have always loved camping and that was something we did a lot of. In fact, three years ago we had purchased our "dream" camper planning for our retirement. I knew I could never tow something that large, mostly because I gave up his truck and my little one can't pull that much weight. That camper is currently up for sale. Last week I purchased a much smaller camper for me and Annie, the dog. My daughter and SIL have a camper and we have planned a trip in a week and a half. I'm excited to get out there and try my hand at setting up camp all by myself. I have practiced towing the camper and I feel I have mastered that comfortably enough.

About a month ago I decided I wanted to bake my bread rather than buy from the grocery store. I don't use that much bread so when I baked my first loaf I let it cool, sliced it, and placed in the freezer. Today will be bread baking day again for the second time as I have finally used up that first loaf. :) The first loaf was a honey wheat. Today I plan to just make a basic white bread. The smell of fresh-baked bread is so yummy! I love it warm just out of the oven, too.

If you stop in and read my ramblings, say "hello". I love to hear what all everyone is up to. You never know what great ideas someone else has! Stay safe and well during these trying times!

So glad to see you here again! Congratulations on your retirement, I hope you enjoy your new leisure time.
I have never made bread, I see the word "yeast" and I move on. I can make beer bread though!
I look forward to the end of this pandemic-I haven't been in a store for three months. Cases seem to be rising as restrictions are lifted so I'll just play hermit for a while longer.
Your camping trip sounds like fun-I haven't been camping since I was a girl scout! Be safe!

Hi Sclaire! I made beer bread once and did like it. I'll have to make some again. The maiden camping trip was a success! We had gorgeous weather and it was very relaxing. My daughter and son-in-law were parked right next to me and our dogs enjoyed spending so much time together.

    You stay safe as well!
