International Conversion Charts

Group recipes spans the world and so with baking recipes which are more exacting than cooking, almost precise measurements are needed to assure success

I am so used to baking anything and always relied not only on conversion charts but scales to weigh ingredients plus also use those wonderful European measurement cups which can be found in specialty kitchen store

I hope this partial chart does help everyone world wide

I tried to be "very specific" for ewveryone!!!

Feel free to post more charts!!!

Wedding Reception Buffet Menu

Ironically I just read of someone else's catering menu and I just finished my affair !

I am retired from former catering and mostly do for family and close friends

So I decided to post mine of a wedding recption buffet I just catered for my daughter

She wanted an array of International appetizers, foods and glamorous desserts.

Many of the following recipes I already posted and some just recently.

My daughter had many vegetarian friends and i had to keep that in mind plus her husbands likes etc..

Everything homemade except for some minor items like the English muffins, cheese, fruit, certain bottled condiments, etc.

I had even purchashed a chocolate fountain machine for the home and it worked out fine!

The party was a success, not much leftover and everyone enjoyed of the array of foods!

it was immense planning, organzing for me and my husband but we have done so many affairs like this.

Any caterer will agree, a happy ending is a satisfied full person who leaves smiling and their plate clean!

Things You Need In Your Pantry Thread

I thought that grouprecipes needed a page that allowed people to post and share "things you gotta have in your pantry" So I started this "thread". I am actually going to add this to a "GROUP" recipe page, under "Secret Ingredients" it may be a better way to go :)

Samosa Pie

Eggchef had mentioned a craving for samosas a while back, and I figured, why not a big one, instead of the bite-sized? So, here’s what emerged: all the flavour of samosas including the healthiness of the vegetables and the spices of the curry, wrapped in a delectable, flaky pastry crust. You will need a 10 inch spring-form pan for this recipe, which is fully vegan and a lot lower in fat than the deep-fried bites, and as a bonus it only gets better as it sits! Actually, it’s best made a day ahead and then reheated at 350F for 40-45 minutes.
