Three Sisters Stew

Brown Buttered Corn W Fresh Basil

This is a fantastic recipe. I used frozen corn because that is what I had on hand and it was great. Use fresh when you can but there is no reason you can't keep this little gem on your menu year round. I have tons of fresh basil that I'm having trouble using up and this was perfect. I had my camera ready but I totally forgot to snap a picture of this. Sorry!

*Everyone knows what corn on the cob w/ butter tastes like, and it's hard to beat. But browning the butter and then sautéing corn kernels in it ratchets up the flavor, while adding shreds of basil at the last minute keeps the dish fresh and tasting of summer.

Pan Fried Onion Dip

This recipe was shared w/ me by a friend and it is THE BEST Onion Dip you'll ever eat. Many say it is 1000's times better than any onion dip they've ever had. I agree. The recipe came from Barefoot Contessa, who is know for globbing on the fat and calories. Between her and Paula Deen - is there any fat left? I changed it around only to add roasted garlic. If you don't have anything to dip in this your guests will use their fingers to get ready with the chips already.

Cream Cheese Dip With Chutney

I found this recipe and several other tail-gating recipes in an issue of Sauveur a year or so back. I made this for the Super Bowl party that year and served it in a handmade pottery dish that a friend gave me for Christmas. Needless to say I brought home an empty dish. P.e.r.f.e.c.t. for Super Bowl Parties. I changed the recipe up a bit because I can't stand Major Gray's Chutney - gag - why is that crap still on the shelves? Make your own or at least buy some at a specialty store like Sur la Table or order it online.

Roasted Green Beans

A friend of mine shared this recipe with my organization, Personal Chefs Network, and all the chefs love it and so do the clients. She said: I found this recipe in Andrea Chesman's "The Roasted Vegetable" cookbook, and I don't know what took me so long to try it.....this would make a GREAT side dish for a client, and they were DELICIOUS. Simply roasting the beans brought out a beautiful flavor, and they were decadent. They also looked beautiful, so they would make a nice dinner party presentation.
