Armenian Pizza- Lahmejun

Wished I had the photos for these. Another 50 year old recipe from our Armenia neighbor. I make these for parties even on the grill, can be main dish too. I also omit the lamb, and use ground turkey, ground beef or even omit beef and use the fragrant parsley tomato sauce with cheese instead. If you do instages it's not a hard recipe and it is very delicious

Armenian Rosy Apple Cake

Mom's Armenian friend's recipe. Its pretty and tasty, serve with a dollop of whipped cream or ice cream on the side. I don't know how the gelatin got incorporated but the original apple cake recipe is Armenian and I think the neighbor lady Americanized it with Jell-o !

Marys Stuffed Grape Leaves

This dish is the favorite of my husband, Steve. His mom, Mary, made the stuffed grape leaves, called Sarma in her family, at all family occasions. The recipe is from her mother and father who came to America many years ago from Armenia. Some may call this dish "dolmas or dolmades" and the recipes differ from family to family. All I know is that Steve, his brothers, and our sons all fight over how many of these they each get.....simply put, it is this family's favorite!!

Perfect served with rice pilaf and a salad with a simple olive oil, lemon and salt vinagrette.
