Frogmore Stew

It does not contain frogs. It was named after the little town of Frogmore SC (St Helena Island, SC). The post office canceled service to Frogmore and just rolled it into Beaufort, SC. Also called Low Country Boil. We celebrate the beginning of summer every year with this dish, and invite all the neighbors. We also traditionally cook it on the evening of the last day of school for the kids.

Green Bean Stew

I can't believe that this is not posted! Ok…It might be but I could not find it on this site and did not bother looking at any others. To all the vegetarians and vegans on the site; Bummer….this one is not for you no matter what the title. ..............................I suppose you could substitute vegetable broth and textured TVP but I have never tried it that way and we are ok with the beef. I grew up with this and I think that Lura did too. Or at least a version of it that did not make her say WT…are you up to now? It goes pretty fast around this neck of the woods our daughters and their boyfriends all eat it without a problem. It is simple, fast and feeds a crowed for not too much money. I sent the onion through a food processer as I was making three different things that called for onion and…well you get the picture. I apologize for some of the vagueness with the measurements as this is one you kind of throw things at it until it looks and tastes right.
