Cranachan

A recipe for an indulgent dessert with the addition of 'Ingredient X'!
Prep time is estimated. Cook time is the toasting of the oats.

Described at the website thus:
'Cranachan is a traditional Scottish sweet dessert recipe served with raspberries. It is also spelt Crannachan. It is traditionally served in Scotland at the New Year and at some Burns Night Suppers. Cranachan is sometimes called Cream Crowdie. This Cranachan recipe will serve four people.'

The recipe has been modified according to Nick Nairn's 'New Scottish Cookery'.

No Knead Whole Grain Artisanal Breads

Jeffrrey Hertzberg and Zoe Francois, authors of Artisan Breads in 5 minutes a day and Healthy Breads in 5 minutes a day plus other bread cookbooks are the pioneers of no knead breads. I saw this one recipe in a newspaper, tried it and could not believe how wonderful the bread came out. I adapted the recipe to make mini free form breads ( not rolls ) and they came out fantastic. In the roll recipe, the garlic, parsley etc was cooked in a skillet and mixed with olive oil and drizzle on the rolls prior to baking.

Traditional Scottish Haggis With A Modern Day Spin

A modern day spin on the traditional Scottish Haggis. No sheep and pig's stomach and no lungs & windpipe and other hard-to-get offal. Really easy to make, and without sounding like a boast, it is better than many of the cheap commercial Haggis you buy in the shops.
Not only for Burns Night, but can be eaten any time of the year. A great recipe for any exPats out there.
