Coconut Chip Nut Bars Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 3/4 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 c sliced walnuts
  • 1/2 c English toffee bits or almond brickle chips
  • 2 c semisweet chocolate chips, divided
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 1/4 c cold butter or margarine
  • 1/4 c baking cocoa
  • 3/4 c confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 c flaked coconut
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions
  • Step #1 In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar & cocoa.
  • Step #2 Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Step #3 Press firmly into a greased 13-in.
  • Step #4 x 9-in.
  • Step #5 x 2-in.
  • Step #6 baking pan.
  • Step #7 Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 mins.
  • Step #8 Meanwhile, in a saucepan, mix milk & 1 c chocolate chips; cook & stir over low heat/flame until smooth & chips are melted.
  • Step #9 Stir in vanilla.
  • Step #10 Pour over crust.
  • Step #11 Sprinkle top with walnuts & remaining chocolate chips.
  • Step #12 Top with coconut & toffee bits.
  • Step #13 Gently press down into chocolate layer.
  • Step #14 Bake at 350 degrees F for 18-20 mins or until firm.
  • Step #15 Cool on a wire rack.
  • Step #16 Cut into bars.
