Marshmallow Sauce For Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 c milk .
  • 2 tbsps water .
  • 3/4 c sugar .
  • 8 oz marshmallows .
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract .
  • 1 tbsp light corn syrup

Directions
  • Step #1 Melt the marshmallows & water in the top of a double boiler, over hot but not boiling water.
  • Step #2 Leave in the top & set aside.
  • Step #3 In a heavy saucepan, mix the sugar, milk, & corn syrup.
  • Step #4 Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, & let simmer for 5 mins.
  • Step #5 Pour this liquid over the marshmallows.
  • Step #6 Return the marshmallow mixture to low heat & with a hand held mixer, or egg beater, whisk, beat until smooth.
  • Step #7 Sauce will thicken as it cooks.
  • Step #8 Remove from the heat & add the vanilla extract.
  • Step #9 Serve at about room temp.
