Spicy Beef Skewers Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsps vegetable oil .
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed .
  • 1 tsp dried marjoram .
  • 1 tsp ground caraway or caraway seeds .
  • 1 tsp cracked black pepper .
  • 1 medium onion .
  • 1 lb ground beef .
  • 2 tsps paprika .
  • salt & pepper .
  • 2 tsps salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Soak 8-10, 10-inch bamboo skewers for 1 hr in water.
  • Step #2 Grate onion with a cheese grater, or very finely chop, or use dried minced onion as a substitute.
  • Step #3 Place the ground beef, grated onion, marjoram, garlic, paprika, & caraway In a large-ish bowl.
  • Step #4 Add salt & pepper & mix using a spatula until well mixed.
  • Step #5 Divide the mixture into 8 equal-sized portions.
  • Step #6 Mold each portion equally around a separate skewer, shaping it into a sausage, give or take about 8 in long.
  • Step #7 Preheat the grill to medium high heat.
  • Step #8 Spice up the skewers with salt & pepper & drizzle with oil.
  • Step #9 Oil preheated barbeque grill.
  • Step #10 Place the skewers directly on the oiled grill.
  • Step #11 To prevent the skewer ends from burning place a sheet of aluminium foil wrap underneath uncovered wooden skewers.
  • Step #12 Grill the skewers for about 8-10 mins, turning every 2 mins.
  • Step #13 The skewers should be golden brown with a slightly crispy exterior.
  • Step #14 Remove from grill & loosely tent with foil wrap to keep warm before serving.
  • Step #15 Serve hot with sour cream or other dip.
