Chicken And Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 (3 lb) whole chicken
  • 4 cubes chicken bouillon
  • 2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Fill a large pot with water, & add whole chicken.
  • Step #2 Bring to a boil, & then reduce heat.
  • Step #3 Simmer until tender, about 1 to 2 hrs.
  • Step #4 Remove chicken from broth, & set aside to cool.
  • Step #5 Reserve broth.
  • Step #6 When cool enough to handle, remove meat from bones; cut into bite size pieces.
  • Step #7 Discard skin & bones.
  • Step #8 In a medium bowl, stir this together flour & salt.
  • Step #9 Break one egg into flour, & stir with fork till stiff.
  • Step #10 Continue adding eggs one at a time until all are incorporated.
  • Step #11 The dough should be very stiff.
  • Step #12 Bring broth to a boil.
  • Step #13 Add bouillon cubes; stir until cubes have dissolved.
  • Step #14 Using a fork & knife, pick up dough on fork.
  • Step #15 Hold over boiling broth, & cut off small pieces into broth until all the dough has been used.
  • Step #16 Stir, cover, & let simmer for 20 mins.
  • Step #17 Add chicken meat, & stir.
  • Step #18 Serve hot.
