  • 3 eggs .
  • Topping .
  • 1 1/2 c brown sugar .
  • 3/4 c sugar .
  • 1/2 c cream .
  • 1/2 c oil .
  • 2 c brown sugar .
  • 1/2 c margarine, softened .
  • 2 tbsps cinnamon .
  • 2 tsps salt .
  • 1/2 c margarine, melted .
  • 1 c flour .
  • 2 (1/4 oz) packages fast rising yeast .
  • 2 1/2 c boiling water .
  • 12-15 c flour

Directions
  • Step #1 Stir 3/4 c sugar, oil & salt into the boiling water.
  • Step #2 When the mixture has cooled, stir in the the eggs & 1 c flour.
  • Step #3 Stir the warm water, 1 tsps sugar & the yeast together.
  • Step #4 In a large mixing bowl, mix the oil mixture with the yeast mixture.
  • Step #5 Add the remaining flour, mixing the dough until it is soft, working it in one c at a time, & no longer sticky.
  • Step #6 Knead the dough, place this In a large-ish oiled bowl, covered, then let rise until at doubled in bulk.
  • Step #7 Punch down, cover & let rise again.
  • Step #8 When I get to this step, I cut enough dough out to make 9 dinner rolls, then set them in an 8x8 oiled pan to rise.
  • Step #9 On a floured surface, roll the dough into a rectangle, about 1 1/2" thick.
  • Step #10 With a rubber spatula, spread the 1/2 c softened margarine over the dough.
  • Step #11 Sprinkle top with the brown sugar & cinnamon.
  • Step #12 You may adjust the sugar & cinnamon amounts according to your taste.
  • Step #13 In a bowl, corn syrup, stir the 1/2 c melted margarine, cream & brown sugar together.
  • Step #14 Pour into well oiled pans, I like to use cake pans.
  • Step #15 Roll the dough up tightly, sealing the seam by pinching the dough together.
  • Step #16 With a sharp knife, slice the dough into 2" slices.
  • Step #17 Place the slices into the pans, then let rise until doubled.
  • Step #18 Bake at 350 for 20 min's.
  • Step #19 Let the buns sit in the toffee sauce for 5 min's, then invert pans onto cookie sheets.
  • Step #20 Enjoy while warm, these will stay soft for several days.
  • Step #21 Note: I would not advise using a citrus based filling as it will change the flavour & texture of the dough & sauce.
