1 tbsp rye whiskey (optional- I never leave this out) .
2 tbsps maple syrup .
2 oranges, peeled & cut into large chunks .
1/4 c cider vinegar .
1/2 tsp ground cloves
Directions
Step #1 In a large sealable bag, mix vinegar, syrup, onions, garlic, cloves, whiskey, salt & pepper.
Step #2 Set aside 4 tbsp of the marinade for basting.
Step #3 Trim any fat from steak: cut into 1" cubes.
Step #4 Add to the bag: seal tightly & put in the fridge for 20-30 mins or overnight.
Step #5 Discard marinade used on steak.
Step #6 Thread steak & orange onto metal or soaked wooden skewers.
Step #7 Place greased grill over med-high heat: close lid & cook, basting with reserved marinade for 4-5 mins per side or until browned but still pink inside.
