Daniel Boone's Fried Chicken Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/8 tsp pepper .
  • 3 lbs frying chicken .
  • 2 tsps cream .
  • 1/4 c water .
  • 1 c water, boiling .
  • 1 1/2 tbsps flour .
  • 1/2 c butter .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1/2 tsp paprika

Directions
  • Step #1 Roll the pieces of chicken in a wooden mixing bowl of flour heavily seasoned with salt, pepper & paprika.
  • Step #2 Grease a large cast iron skillet with the butter & fry each piece of chicken.
  • Step #3 Brown well on both sides.
  • Step #4 Then reduce the heat slightly & add the water.
  • Step #5 Cover up the skillet & cook for 15 mins on each side.
  • Step #6 Take the fried chicken from the skillet & pour off all but 2 tbsps butter.
  • Step #7 Add the flour to the melted butter, mix well & stir until nicely browned.
  • Step #8 Then add the salt, pepper, paprika & boiling water.
  • Step #9 Simmer until the gravy is smooth & thickened, stirring constantly.
  • Step #10 Lastly, stir in the the cream & mix.
  • Step #11 Pour this gravy around the chicken on a large platter.
