Traditional Italian Tiramisu Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2/3 c bittersweet chocolate, shaved into small pieces .
  • 3 tbsps Frangelico (Any type of hazelnut liquor will do.) .
  • 1 c espresso (Room Tempature) .
  • 1 lb mascarpone cheese .
  • 1/4 c granulated sugar .
  • 1 c heavy whipping cream .
  • 24 italian ladyfingers (Savoiardi)

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large mixing bowl mix the Mascarpone cheese, Frangelico liquor & sugar.
  • Step #2 In a separate bowl whip the whipping cream till soft peaks form.
  • Step #3 Gently fold Mascarpone mixture into the whip cream.
  • Step #4 In an 8x8 Glass serving dish layer 1/2 the ladyfingers tightly on the bottom.
  • Step #5 Drizzle 1/2 the espresso over the ladyfingers, trying to saturate them evenly.
  • Step #6 Spread 1/2 of the Mascarpone mixture on top of the ladyfingers.
  • Step #7 Sprinkle top 1/2 of the shaved chocolate over the top.
  • Step #8 Layer remaining ladyfingers on top of the shaved chocolate.
  • Step #9 Again, you are looking to get a nice tight layer.
  • Step #10 Drizzle the remaining espresso over the ladyfingers.
  • Step #11 Spread the rest of the Mascarpone mixture on top of the ladyfingers.
  • Step #12 You can either spread it nice & smooth with a spatula OR spread the mixture & create soft peaks for texture & appearance.
  • Step #13 Sprinkle top the remaining shaved chocolate on top.
  • Step #14 Cover up with plastic wrap & put in the fridge overnight for best results.
