Kiri Pani (yogurt And Treacle) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 8 oz jaggery (225g) .
  • 14 oz yogurt (200g) .
  • 1/2 c water

Directions
  • Step #1 Plain, Vanilla for Honey yogurt can be used.
  • Step #2 In a heavy-bottomed pan bring the jaggery & the water slowly to the boil.
  • Step #3 The heat should be kept to a minimum until the jaggery has dissolved.
  • Step #4 Once the jaggery has dissolved bring it to the boil & allow to reduce until you have a thick pouring sauce.
  • Step #5 Strain into a sauceboat or jug & pour over the yogurt before serving.
  • Step #6 I was lucky to find my jaggery at a local food co op, but you may have to order if offline.
