Print Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3-4 lbs beef brisket .
  • cheddar cheese or American cheese (Sliced thick) .
  • 8-12 buns, your favorite .
  • barbecue sauce, your favorite, enough to cover beef brisket (I prefer Charlie Robinson's Brown Sugar) .
  • 1 large onion (sliced wide) .
  • 3 garlic cloves (Diced fine)

Directions
  • Step #1 Put beef brisket in crock pot.
  • Step #2 Top with your favorite BBQ sauce.
  • Step #3 Just enough to cover the meat.
  • Step #4 Place onion slices & sliced garlic on top of meat.
  • Step #5 Cook on low for 8 hrs.
  • Step #6 When done, use a fork to shred the meat.
  • Step #7 (Poke the meat & then pull down with the fork) Once shaved it will mix with the BBQ sauce nicely.
  • Step #8 Serve on a fresh bun of choice & top this with either a thick Cheddar or American cheese slice.
  • Step #9 Another alternative could be melted Velveeta.
  • Step #10 Make sure each sandwich has a little bit of the onion slices in there, it really adds to the flavor & texture.
  • Step #11 I usually serve this with a little side salad for a quick dinner.
