Coffee Granita Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp brandy (optional) .
  • Optional addins (choose one if desired) .
  • 3/8 oz Splenda sugar substitute, add more to taste (6 packages) .
  • 1 tbsp rum (optional) .
  • 1/4 tsp rum extract (optional) .
  • 1 3/4 c strong coffee, at about room temp .
  • 1 tbsp flavored sugar-free syrup (optional)

Directions
  • Step #1 Add splenda & any desired flavorings into coffee.
  • Step #2 Pour into ice cube trays until mostly frozen - about 60 to 90 mins.
  • Step #3 There may be a little liquid at the bottom of the cubes.
  • Step #4 That's fine.
  • Step #5 Put ice cubes in food processor/blender & pulse until you have slush with no visible chunks.
  • Step #6 Place slush in a covered bowl back in the freezer for 30 mins or until ready to serve.
  • Step #7 If you are freezing 30-90 mins, remove bowl from freezer & scrape the slushy ice into serving c.
  • Step #8 If you are freezing much longer, you may want to return the granita to the food processor/blender for a quick whirl before serving.
