Canadian Cheese Soup Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 c chicken broth .
  • pepper .
  • 1 c thinly sliced carrots .
  • 1/2 c flour .
  • 1 1/2 c celery, finely sliced .
  • 1 tsp seasoning salt .
  • 5 c shredded American cheese or cheddar cheese .
  • 1 tsp parsley .
  • 3 c milk .
  • Tabasco sauce .
  • 1/2 c margarine .
  • 1/4 c minced onions

Directions
  • Step #1 In large saucepan over med-heat/flame sauté onion in margarine until clear.
  • Step #2 Add carrots & celery & sauté for 2-3 mins.
  • Step #3 Stir in broth & seasoned salt.
  • Step #4 Cook for 10-15 mins until vegetables are soft.
  • Step #5 Mix together flour & 1 c milk.
  • Step #6 Stir in remaining milk & add to vegetable mixture.
  • Step #7 Lover heat & cook slowly until thickened, about 30-45 mins.
  • Step #8 Add dash of Tabasco sauce & pepper to taste.
  • Step #9 Add shredded cheese & stir til slightly melted.
  • Step #10 Sprinkle top with parsley & serve.
