Ingredients
  • 1 tsp baking powder .
  • 1 c whole grain breakfast cereal (Red River) .
  • 1 c semisweet mini chocolate chips .
  • 1/2 c granulated sugar .
  • 1/2 c packed brown sugar .
  • 1 large egg .
  • 1 c whole wheat flour .
  • 1 c quick-cooking oats .
  • 1 tsp baking soda .
  • 3/4 c butter or margarine, softened

Directions
  • Step #1 Cream butter, sugars & egg In a large-ish bowl until smooth.
  • Step #2 In a separate bowl, cereal, oats, mix together the flour, baking powder & baking soda.
  • Step #3 Add to creamed mixture, mixing until thoroughly mixed.
  • Step #4 Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Step #5 Drop dough by spoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet.
  • Step #6 Bake for 7 to 10 mins, or until light golden.
  • Step #7 Tip: For a softer cookie, allow the dough to chill in the refrigerator for 10 to 15 mins before baking.
