Step #1 In a large saucepan, bring the milk/water mixture to a boil; using a wooden spoon, stir the salt & polenta into the boiling liquid in a steady stream, stirring constantly until the mixture has thickened.
Step #2 Lower the heat & let simmer for about 20 mins, stirring frequently; add the butter, cheese & seasoning.
Step #3 Lightly grease a shallow roasting pan & pour in the polenta mixture; cool, then chill overnight.
Step #4 To make the sauce, seasoning & sage; cook for 10 mins, then add the tomatoes, fry the onion & garlic in oil for 5 mins, stir in the the broad beans & cook for another 5 mins.
Step #5 Turn out the polenta & cut into fingers; grill both sides until brown & crisp; spread with a little butter & serve this with the tomato beany sauce.
