Step #1 Cook peas until almost done, drain into a colander, & rinse under a light spray of lukewarm water.
Step #2 Allow to Drain.
Step #3 Heat oil in pan.
Step #4 Cut the 2 slices of bacon into cubes & place this in the pan.
Step #5 Cut the 2 scallions into thin rounds & add into pan.
Step #6 Cook on medium heat for 10 mins.
Step #7 Meanwhile, cook rice.
Step #8 Fold sugar into cooked rice, bacon & scallions, fluff with a fork, add the peas & 1/2 lb of shelled cooked shrimp, & serve as soon as possible.
